BOOK REVIEW
Title: Blink, The Power of Thinking without Thinking
Author : Malcolm Gladwell
Rating: A-

A great book about understanding the power of first impressions, rapid judgments, and instantaneous reactions. According to the author, the power of knowing in a flash is an ability that we all have. However, it must be understood and cultivated-based on study and experience. Do you remember the email from Ghandilito about seeing/not seeing the dolphins in a picture? In a blink moment, we saw the couple. We couldn't see the dolphins instantly because our unconscious is always feeding our brain with implicit associations. On the other hand, a child has no previous knowledge of what the couple is doing. The book dwells into multiple cases of social psychology to explain and contrast good and bad "blink" judgments. This is an excellent business book. A must read.
Bonus: I have a better understanding of the Coke vs. Pepsi Challenge marketing machine and the Amadu Diallo shooting in the Bronx.
